Doan 95% Rye Whiskey was crafted to create the perfect Manhatten and Old Fashion. The Golden age of Rye Whiskey mirrored the Golden Age of the Industrial Revolution. It's said that Rye anchored many popular cocktails in the 19th century, including the Manhatten and Old Fashioned. In fact, just before Prohibition, 96 percent of the liquor consumed in America was Rye Whiskey.
Doan - Cocktails
Manhatten
Ingredients:
2 oz. of Doan Craft Whiskey
1/2 oz. Carpano Antica vermouth
2 long dashes Angostura bitters
1 Luxardo cherry, for garnish
Instructions:
Combine ingredients in a cocktail mixing glass. Add ice and stir until well chilled martini or coupe glass. Garnish with Luxardo cherry.
Old Fashioned:
Ingredients:
2 oz. of Doan Craft Whiskey
1 spoon simple syrup (1 sugar cube)
2 long dashes Angostura bitters
Orange twist
Instructions:
Combine bitters and simple syrup in a glass. Add Rye Whickey and stir. Now add one large ice cube, or three to four smaller cubes and stir until chilled and properly diluted. (About 30 seconds.) Slip orange twist on the side of the cube.
